In spring of 2006, San Diego State University completed the Western Association of Schools and Colleges' (WASC) reaccreditation process. Reaffirmation of SDSU's accreditation certified to the educational community and to the general public that all of the university's degree programs and educational activities have met or exceeded established standards and the campus' own goals. The review process was not meant to produce a series of "status reports" on compliance issues but, through self-study, to promote continuous improvement processes in educational quality. The reaccreditation process was a multi-stage, longitudinal one that required broad campus involvement. WASC asked the campus to submit, over a five-year period, an institutional proposal, a capacity and preparatory review report, and an educational effectiveness review report. This web site has been created to serve as an electronic portfolio for the documents we submitted to WASC as well as the WASC-related documents we have received. We invite you to explore our web site and become familiar with SDSU's reaccreditation process. |
